Geeky Weekend Fun: Space and Time (Relatively)

It's the weekend, and there's plenty of things to cross off the list of "Hey we should do that!"

Some people like to answer the call of the wild.

Some like to watch the twenty-second countdown to the next episode of the Netflix binge.

Others may be inclined to find inspiration from other mediums of art like at a museum or bookstores.

If you're in the Los Angeles area, we recommend two free, nerdy places of inspiration and adventure all rolled into one.

  • The Griffith Observatory - The Griffith Observatory in Griffith Park Los Angeles is a place where you can gain a new perspective of the universe and yourselves. You can spend as little or as much time here as you'd like. Parking may be a challenge during peak hours, so once you park, it'd be worth your time to stay and soak in the cosmos.
  • The Last Bookstore - The Last Bookstore is a two-story labyrinth of books both old and new. It has a famous book tunnel, which symbolically acts as a portal to worlds yet to be discovered. This bookstore is inspiring for many reasons with it being nostalgic, social, and artful.

It doesn't take much to make an adventure grand. Inspiration can be found in a local art gallery, a museum, a bookstore, or park.

We hope that whatever nerd or geeky fandom you're into, it's inspiring you to get out and venture on!
