Happy 80th anniversary to the hero that started it all. In 1938, Action Comics #1 not only ushered in a new era of superheroes but gave us Earth's mightiest one, Superman. No other comics has reached the 1000th issue and it's only fitting that it happens on Supe's 80th birthday. He may be 80 but he doesn't look a day over 30. Thanks Superman for inspiring us to become the best versions of ourselves and to live for truth and justice. Here's to 80 more! The 1000th Action Comics issue releases today (4/18) and will be offered in many variant covers to capture the Man of Steel throughout different eras of his 80-year run. Cover artists include Steve Rude (Future Quest), Michael Cho (Batman Black and White), Dave Gibbons (Watchmen), Michael Allred (Bug!: The Adventures of Forager), Jim Steranko (Catwoman: Selina’s Big Score), Dan Jurgens (Action Comics) and Kevin Nowlan (Hawkman: Found), Lee Bermejo (Luthor) and Joshua Middleton (Aquaman). Go support your local comic shop and pick up a few of these!
