As you know, there has been a little drama around the launch of our Wonder Woman Denim Jacket that we covered in a blog post last week. At Hero Within we have been overwhelmed by the amazing support from fans on social media, on blogs and through e-mail. The passionate defending of this new product has shown the courage and beauty of our fandom. This experience has made us grateful that we can serve our fans in this small way and help push the needle of change. An e-mail came in that really captured the heart and spirit of why it's important to overcome this cultural bias and we wanted to share it with you:
I'd actually never heard of your company until today, when I saw the blog post you wrote retweeted on Twitter this morning. I just want to say as a dedicated comic book reader and someone who's pretty picky about their clothes, I'm impressed with what you're doing there. My two favorite t-shirts that I own both feature female DC heroes... I'm wearing one of them now! And I always get compliments when I do wear them, it makes people happy to see the female heroes represented. The only downside is that they are both terrible fits, specifically because the companies that produced them only make them in a women's cut, which doesn't suit the shape of my body at all. But I wear them both with pride, even if I've had to cut one of them into a tank top to make it fit. So I'm really happy to see you making hero-themed clothes that are for all genders, and not limiting yourselves by cultural bias. Thanks for giving people access to their desire to show their support for the characters and, more importantly, the underlying themes and symbolism of what those characters represent. It's no small feat, and it is appreciated, no matter what some people who have their own issues holding them back might say on the Internet. Keep fighting the good fight,
Behm
We love hearing from you and would love to share your stories or your Wonder Woman pics on this blog or social media- please send to info@HeroWithinStore.com. Thanks for being awesome!

Well said, well done, and that is a RAD tank-top (formerly a shirt)!
